Printer’s Row Lofts – 525 Logan Ave

Originally designed by W. F. Carmichael in 1911, Printers’ Row Lofts at 525 Logan Ave pays respect to both the building’s historical role in the printing trade, as well as Chicago’s famed Printers’ Row. Both Chicago’s and Toronto’s Printers’ Rows are examples of beautiful architecture, and both have experienced transformation with regards to their use as residential dwellings that appeal to artists, designers, and those with a taste for authentic loft conversions. Though primarily designed and used as the Bell Telephone Company’s world headquarters, this Toronto lofts building enjoyed more recent status as host to ABSO Blueprints. Now, this building houses six two and three storey south-facing lofts with incredible use of the building’s original architectural details such as terra cotta, original concrete floors, and 17 foot ceilings. All units feature outdoor space with private roof gardens or terraces and many suites offer the opportunity to curl up next to a wood or gas fireplace in the chilly winter months. Your luxurious bath is a deck-mounted whirlpool tub, allowing you to soak away the strain of a long day, and your California-style island plan kitchen ensures you will entertain in style, even if your favourite cookbook is a list of take-out restaurants! In fact, the latter may not be a bad option, considering you are located on the edge of East Chinatown!

With several authentic Chinese restaurants and Vietnamese pho restaurants in the area, you may never cook again! If you are a culinary connoisseur, however, and delight in creating your own extraordinary meals, East Chinatown is home to some of the best seafood shops in the city. Find your next great recipe at the nearby Riverdale Library, and while you’re in the nearby neighbourhood of RIverdale, be sure to check out Riverdale Park, a short walk west from your home. This park offers soccer, baseball and ultimate frisbee fields, as well as a swimming pool, tennis courts, an outdoor hockey rink and a running track. The park is also home to Riverdale Farm where you can take advantage of the weekly Riverdale Farmer’s Market, in operation on Tuesdays from May to October, or simply take a deep breath as you explore the wooded areas and delight in the bountiful gardens this farm has to offer. Embrace all that this ideal location has to offer: fantastic food, life-giving green space, easy access to streetcars that effortlessly transport you across the city, and of course, the historic architectural beauty that is Printers‘ Row Lofts.
